Deacon Luis P. Villanueva was ordained on May 31, 2008 at St. Rose of Lima Church, of the Archdiocese of San Antonio at 60 years of age after five years of formation. He is celebrating his 11th anniversary of serving our Lord, our parish of St. Joseph, the community of Devine and surrounding area.

Father Antonio came to St. Joseph’s Parish with 27 years of experience as a priest and he looks forward to serving the parishioners in Devine for many years to come. He believes completely in the law of the church, which usually calls for a priest to serve long enough in a community so that they can get to know completely the parishioners and their families that they serve.

George Roque Torres, Jr., was born August 29, 1947 at Fort Hood U.S. Army Base in Killeen, Texas. He was ordained as Deacon with the Arch Diocese of San Antonio, TX. May 19, 2007.
Deacon George’s ministries include the following: Past-Jail Ministry – Dominguez Unit. 2007-2009, Present: Active in Pro-Life ministry.
